Research Project
Collaborative Teacher Training Project Project Leader – Dr. Anne Moll Two Year Research Project with the Central Kentucky
Special Education Cooperative. Four districts had teams of teachers at the
elementary, middle, and high school levels participate in two years of
professional development on collaborative teaching, differentiated
instruction, and inclusive education. Each team conducted action
research within their classrooms related to improving academic
performance of students with different needs (e.g., gifted, disabled).
Teachers collected specific data in their action research, documenting
students' response to the interventions or differentiations used in the
classroom. The
teams analyzed the needs of their schools and wrote specific action plans
to support change across the school level, and administrators from the
schools and central office level worked to improve the district’s
capacity to better serve all students. Professional
